Welcome

The Members and Board of Directors of the Martin County Genealogical Society, Inc. (MCGS) welcome you to our website. We hope you will find it helpful. Our society's primary function is to promote family history research and preserve historical records with an emphasis on the Treasure Coast (Stuart), Florida region. Our team hosts educational and genealogical programs as well as historical preservation projects. We hope you enjoy your visit with us and we look forward to seeing you at our next meeting, the 3rd Friday of every month, except June, July and August.

The banner, in the lower left, has the outline of Martin County’s boundaries dissected by a branch of the St. Lucie River, which runs in a SW to NE direction from Lake Okeechobee to the Atlantic Ocean. Two palm trees are in front of a rising sun and Stuart, Florida is named, representing the county seat. Encircling everything are the words “Martin County” on top and “Genealogical Society, INC.” below the outline.

The Palm Trees represent MCGS’ commitment to members – to train and assist in researching our roots.
The Rising Sun depicts our growth in both membership and stature.
The River both divides and unites the sections of Martin County.
Our Name, encircling the whole, binds us as one.

Donna DuBois, President
